The seemingly incompatible needs for U.S. colleges and universities to expand access, increase completion, improve student learning and reduce costs have created new pressures as well as enormous opportunity for innovation in higher education. Many institutions are responding to these pressures by cutting costs, restricting enrollments and increasing selectivity through enrolling out-of-state and international students who can afford to pay higher rates of tuition. A handful of universities, however, are boldly restructuring operating costs and embracing business efficiencies, and creating clear and accelerated pathways for students. These universities, often encouraged by in system- and state-level policies, are examples of “Next Generation Universities.”

Join us on May 21st for a conversation with higher education thought leaders on the future of public higher education. Participants will discuss these Next Generation Universities, and the strategies and partnerships that support students and increase degree completion.

The program will be live streaming on the event webpage for those unable to attend in person.

Join the conversation online by tweeting @NewAmericaEd with the hashtag #NextGenU.
